About us
Norfolk Design Studio is a small family run business dedicated to building well designed web sites at affordable prices. Working from home means our overheads are small so we can keep our prices low. We have over 12 years experience of working with the internet for Virgin Direct, the One Account, RBS, NatWest and Direct Line. We don’t expect our customers to have an in depth knowledge of websites or computers. If you have questions or need help, just ask, our advice is free.
Website package
We will give you a price that includes everything to have your website up and running for one year, including costs for upgrading and future hosting costs. Our website packages include:

Website Design
In order to design a website for your business, we will need to spend time with you understanding your requirements. This can be done face to face, over the phone, via email or a mixture of all three. We can use the input from you, any branding, logos, literature and advertisements to help with the design. We can also incorporate maps (from Google or Bing), links to Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter or RSS feeds for example. You know your business and we will do our best to get across the message that you want to deliver to your customers.
Once we have a good idea of what you want we will design a home page and website structure for you without obligation. We will build a test site for you. This will enable you to see how your new website will look and give you the opportunity to request changes as we go along.

Domain name
A domain name is a unique name for a web site, for example our domain name is norfolkdesignstudio.co.uk. We can help you choose and register a domain name for your business which is most suitable for you. Choose a name that is:
- easy to remember
- relates to your business/site
- includes a relevant search term
Hosting
We use 1&1 to host our websites. We have found them to be very reliable and they offer excellent support. We prefer to host your website with 1&1, but if you would rather we can provide you with the files to host your website with a provider of your choice.
Personalised email accounts
Give your business a professional touch with a personalised email address. For example customerservices@yourcompany.co.uk or sales@yourcompany.co.uk.
Search engine submission
To aid search engines we will produce a sitemap. This is a file containing information about the pages on your site. Search engines will then be able to crawl your web site more effectively. We will also submit your site to Google and Bing.
Technical support
We provide ongoing technical support, so if you have a problem contact us and we will do our best to help you.
Pricing
Our website packages start from £400. Since the websites we develop are all individual we need to understand your requirements before we can provide you with a price.
Quality
All our websites are rigorously tested by an experienced tester who has been involved with testing web applications for over 10 years.
We make sure your website adheres to the standards set by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) by validating each page. This ensures that all web pages are interpreted consistently by browsers. Try the links below:
A website can be displayed on a vast number of devices using different screen sizes and browsers. We can’t check them all so we target our testing based on browser information supplied by w3schools.com. We will check that your website displays correctly using:
- Screen resolution 1024x768 (13% of users) and higher (85% of users)
- Internet Explorer (IE9, IE8 & IE7)
- Firefox
- Chrome
- Safari
- Opera
- Enlarged text
In addition, images are optimised so that page load time is kept to a minimum.
Your part
Unfortunately we can’t do all the work for you but we can help you every step of the way. We need you to:
- Have ready any branding, logos, literature or advertisements that convey the look and feel of your business.
- Think about the content that you would like to see on your new website and how frequently it will change.
- Provide existing images, brochures etc.
- Be available to provide feedback.
Other services
Images can be an important aspect. We can edit your photos, take digital photos for you, or introduce you to a professional photographer.
